Krafcik: A Game of Beer-Industry Discovery at Warsaw Beer Festival

Collectors Cards and Personalised Badges

To celebrate Warsaw Beer Festival’s tenth anniversary, visitors can play Krafcik: beer-industry learning & engagement, a game using Collectors Cards that feature an illustration of somebody from Poland’s Craft Beer scene.

During Warsaw Beer Festival‘s 17th edition (WFP17, 21-23 March 2024), each person depicted on a card will wear a personalised badge also featuring their illustration. Visitors who find the person shown on their card can perform that person’s easy task to win a prize.

The illustrations will depict someone from a brewery or exhibitor, an influencer or a blogger, an ambassador, a beer journalist or some other participant who is involved in Polish craft beer.

A limited number of each illustrated card will be in circulation during WFP17. Whose illustration will be shown on your card?

Krafcik: The Game – Beer-Industry Learning

The illustration is a handmade portrait alongside the person’s name and the organisation they represent. Cards are either blue, violet, green or yellow, and each card displays one brewing ingredient (water, hops, malt or yeast) and a favourite beer style (grodziskie, Baltic porter, pastry sour or lager) chosen by the person shown.

On the reverse of each card is a QR Code which, when scanned, gives playing instructions. The rules are simple.

You can play using just one card or try using multiple cards. You could find the person illustrated on each card anywhere across the festival site: at the brewery stands, involved in an activity, or just enjoying a great beer with friends.

Once you have completed your task, you will be given a token for collecting a prize at the WFP stand.

Several gameplay modes are available. You can play alone, with somebody else or as part of a group.

Two WFP Ambassadors, man and woman, with diverse backgrounds, promoting beer-industry learning & engagement.

Krafcik: The Tasks – Beer-Industry Engagement

Each person illustrated has devised a small task that promotes their brewery, their product, WFP or Polish craft beer in general. For example, it could be sharing and tagging a photo together on social media. WFP is committed to online engagement, and we encourage your stories on social media (please tag WFP, the breweries, exhibitors and participants).

The Prizes

We will donate WFP gifts to be given as prizes for visitors who complete the required task. The value of these gifts may exceed the donation value of each card (minimum 20 zł per card). You could win socks, glasses or pin badges, for example.

Breweries and exhibitors may also donate gifts to be given as prizes. These will be great things to talk about on social media, helping to increase online engagement about WFP and Polish craft beer.

A complete set of cards will also be donated to the auction in aid of Stowarzyszenie OD-DO.

The Objectives

Craft Beer is all about socialising and having fun. We want all visitors to meet people involved in Polish craft beer to learn about and discuss their work.

Proceeds will be used to promote Polish breweries and craft beer internationally. Wolny Kraft will run a campaign outside Poland to boost sales and increase awareness.

Furthermore, brewery and exhibitor participation in the Collectors Cards game is also intended to increase awareness and stimulate sales during the festival. The objective for Krafcik is beer-Industry Learning & Engagement.

Where to buy the cards

Cards are available at the WFP stand. Get one after donating (cash or card) towards Wolny Kraft (minimum 20 zł per card).

Cards will also be given as prizes in other games and competitions at WFP.
