10 Unique Polish Craft Beers: A Decade of Warsaw Beer Festival Success

2024 marks the tenth anniversary of the Warsaw Beer Festival (Warszawski Festiwal Piwa — WFP), Poland’s premier event for celebrating superior craft beer and independent, artisanal breweries. Since the debut edition in 2014, international interest in Poland’s beer industry has soared. Polish craft beer is now found in pubs, bars, restaurants and bottle-shops around the world, and visitors pour into Warsaw for WFP’s biannual festivities.

Celebrating with Superior Craft Beer

To celebrate the milestone, WFP organiser Wolny Kraft, the Polish craft beer association, has planned something special for this year’s 17th edition — 21–23 March. In collaboration with some of Poland’s top craft breweries, WFP17 will launch 10 anniversary beers. Specially brewed for the festival, these unique beers will be available to WFP17 visitors and distributed through the breweries’ regular channels.

Poland: Discover Beer & Diversity

Poland is internationally renowned for its diversity — culture, beer and music. To bring these elements together in honour of Warsaw’s continuing growth and success as a beer-tourism destination, the anniversary-beer theme is ‘Passion Inspired Music’. As well as brewing commemorative beer, each brewery will also select a unique setlist of music inspired by their beer. Many brewers are DJs or musicians, so be prepared for diversity, both brewing and musical. Expect dance, funk, dark metal and more.

Enjoy Superior Craft Beer with Passion Inspired Music

The beer-inspired setlists will be will be available online by scanning QR codes on the beer can or bottle, accessing WFP website links or visiting Spotify or YouTube. There is even a silent disco on Friday evening at WFP17, where visitors can dance the night away listening to ‘pirate tapes’ featuring the chosen setlists.

Unlock Untappd Badges

Beer-rating platform Untappd is a WFP partner. It will promote the event, festive beers and participating breweries across Poland and beyond. Beer lovers can unlock three unique badges too.

  • Bronze: check in any beer from a brewery attending WFP.
  • Silver: check in any beer at WFP.
  • Gold: check in all 10 festival beers. The first 500 visitors to unlock this badge will receive a free pair of WFP socks, created especially for the event, courtesy of KABAK and Untappd.

Play Krafcik

WFP17 visitors can also play Krafcik. To build beer-industry learning, a game using Collectors Cards allows visitors to win prizes while increasing engagement with industry professionals. Each card feature an illustration of somebody from Poland’s Craft Beer scene.

Experience New Beer Traditions

Craft beer enthusiasts, music lovers and culture fanatics are invited to celebrate Poland and Warsaw’s distinct diversity at WFP.
